One of these words is actually spelled correctly

Remember when I got engaged a little while ago? The good news is my engagement ring is now fully insured. The bad news is if something happens the insurance company may pay out in carrots.

If you look at the description of the ring “dimond solitare 1/2 carrot, platmium/palladium” you might notice that the only correctly spelled word in the whole thing is “palladium” and think “well, at least they got that right. Good for them!”. Except the person at the call centre specifically asked me to spell it for her and that’s the only reason it’s right.

IF ONLY SHE’D ASKED ME TO SPELL ALL THE OTHER WORDS TOO.

I’m willing to accept that “carats”, “solitaire” and “platinum” might fall into the category of “specialty terms” that perhaps not everyone has the opportunity to use on a regular basis. But “diamond”?

And I know I probably sound like I have a weight of super compressed carbon up my ass, but jeez, this is a little bit depressing.
